Gujarat, India. Bhavnagar is a city founded by the Rajput ruler Bhavsinhji Gohil
in 1723, in the East coast of the Saurashtra peninsula in the state of Gujarat,
India. The last princely ruler Late Shri Krishnakumarsinhji handed over the administration
to the people's representative in 1948 on the advice of Mahatma Gandhiji. The place
is synonymous with the Nishkalank Mahadev temple in Koliyak that is submerged in
the Arabian Sea and surfaces majestically during the low tides ! Alang, largest
ship scrapping yard in the world is situated close to Bhavnagar and it is one of
choicest ship scraping destination for the ship owners around the world and generates
millions of tons of steel every year. Bhavnagar is an important manufacturing centre
for cotton. The lock gates are unique about this town and first of its kind in the
state. The sea water is impounded by these lock gates to keep the ships afloat during
